The Supreme Court of Nigeria has dismissed two appeals filed by President Muhammadu Buhari’s in-law, Sani Sha’aban, against the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State, Uba Sani in the 2023 poll and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Sha’aban was a former APC governorship aspirant, who later became the flagbearer of the Action Democratic Party (ADC) for the 2023 election in the state.
A statement by the solicitor for the APC, Sule Shu’aibu made available to newsmen on Wednesday, said the apex court dismissed both appeals filed by Sha’aban against Uba Sani.
“Finally, the two appeals at the instance of Sani Mahmoud Sha’aban against the APC, its Gubernatorial Candidate, Uba Sani, and INEC have both been dismissed this morning bringing an end to the litigation that started at the Federal High Court, Kaduna Division seeking to disqualify the APC Gubernatorial Candidate in the forthcoming General Election.”
