Mr Daniel Amos (APC–Kaduna) has provided free medical surgeries valued at N120 million for no fewer than 1,600 constituents in Jema’a and Sanga Federal Constituency.
Amos inaugurated the fourth edition of the medical outreach on Thursday at the Patrick Yakowa Hospital in Kafanchan, saying the initiative was designed to improve the quality of life of his people.
“Today is not just another ceremony. It marks another chapter in our collective journey toward accessible, affordable and community-rooted healthcare,” he said.
“It is a reaffirmation of our belief that leadership must touch lives in practical, measurable and meaningful ways. It is our responsibility to use public office as a platform to uplift lives.”
The lawmaker, who chairs the House Committee on Services, described the fourth edition as the most ambitious yet, both in scale and impact.
“This year, we aim to deliver healthcare to more beneficiaries than all previous editions combined. We are offering 1,200 general surgeries and 400 eye surgeries, and will distribute 3,000 reading glasses.
“Our target is to expand the outreach across all wards in Jema’a and Sanga, ensuring that no community, however remote, is left behind,” he said.
Amos restated his commitment to sustaining and expanding the programme annually, whether he remains in office or not.
Governor Uba Sani, represented by the Director of Medical Services, Dr Jonathan Gajere, and Sen. Sunday Katung, represented by former lawmaker Mr Gideon Gwani, praised Amos for prioritizing the health and wellbeing of his constituents.
They pledged to collaborate with him to deliver more healthcare interventions, including facility upgrades, equipment support and other impactful health projects in the constituency and across Kaduna State.
Other dignitaries described the medical outreach as an act of compassion and an example of responsive leadership.
Some beneficiaries expressed gratitude to Amos, noting that the surgeries and treatment were services they had postponed for years due to financial constraints.
The outreach was organized in collaboration with the Graceland Healthcare Foundation.
