ASHENEWS reports that a maternity complex and two blocks of 40-bed capacity patient wards have been constructed by the Madugu Foundation in collaboration with the National Agricultural Extension, Research and Liaison Services at the General Hospital Gwandu, Kebbi state.
Speaking during the the commissioning of the project on Thursday, the founder of Madugu Foundation, Faruku Madugu Gwandu said that the collaboration with the National Agricultural Extension, Research, and Liaison Services was part of efforts to complement the state government’s commitment to improving healthcare delivery system.
Gwandu stated that the completion of the project will also provide job opportunities to people in Gwandu local government among others.
On his part, the Kebbi state governor, Nasir Idris said that the project will contribute greatly to improving healthcare delivery in the state.
Represented by the deputy governor, Umar Abubakar, the governor said that his administration remains committed to strengthening the state’s health sector to improve the quality of lives of residents.
He commended the donors for the initiative and urged other stakeholders to emulate the donors.
