A top healthcare center in Nigeria, the Bridge Clinic, said that 3,825 babies have been born at the clinic through IVF (In vitro fertilisation) in the last 25 years.
Dr. Babatunde Ogunniran, the Lead Consultant Gynaecologist at the clinic, shared this news during a special event. The clinic was celebrating three things: World IVF Day 2025, its 25th anniversary, and the launch of a new fertility package.
It also marked the clinic’s seventh win in a row as the “IVF Service Provider of the Year” at the Nigerian Healthcare Excellence Awards.
Dr. Ogunniran said World IVF Day is very meaningful to them because it celebrates the birth of Louise Brown, the first IVF baby, in 1978.
He added that for 25 years, the Bridge Clinic has brought hope to couples who want to have children.
The clinic combines caring support with the latest medical technology and has helped thousands of families. So far, more than 3,825 babies have been born through IVF at the clinic.
To mark this special year, the clinic started a week-long campaign to raise awareness and launched a new fertility package to make it easier for more couples to become parents.
Mrs. Abang, the clinic’s Lead Counsellor, said that World IVF Day is not just about science—it’s also about the lives that have been changed and the new families that have been created.
She shared that on July 26, the clinic will host a special event with workshops, patient stories, and a question-and-answer session.
The clinic also announced that one lucky couple at each of its locations in Abuja, Port Harcourt, and Lagos will get a free IVF treatment. This is to help more couples who dream of becoming parents.
