ASHENEWS reports that the Nigerian Security Printing and Minting Company (NSPMC) says it has made adequate arrangement to continuously produce the newly redesigned banknotes as well as other denominations in line with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) indent for the year 2023.
This online quotes the Managing Director of the company, Ahmed Halilu, made available to newsmen on Saturday.
ASHENEWS earlier reported the CBN also debunking news report credited to Mr. Godwin Emefiele, it governor, that NSPMC has no capacity to produce new notes.
According to Halilu, “The attention of the Nigerian Security Printing and Minting Company has been drawn to some publications allegedly credited to the central bank of Nigeria CBN governor about the capacity of NSPMC to continue the production of the redesigned bank notes owning to supply constraints.”
“While the CBN has debunked the false claim, we also find expedient to add that contrary to the mischievous claim, De la Rue of the United Kingdom does not produce nor supply paper substrate within the currency industry,” it stated.
