Senator Aliyu Wamakko, has advocated total displine amongst students of Islamiya institutions.
He spoke on Sunday at the graduation of 279 students of Usmanu Bn Fodiyo Islamiya School, Tsamiyar Dila Area Sokoto on Sunday.
Wamakko described displine as the only means of achieving success while impacting knowledge to the incoming generations, particularly the students of Islamiya schools.
The former governor of Sokoto, who was impressed with what he saw at the school, also called on its teachers to handle and teach their students directly and according to the tenets of Islam.
The Senator who facilitated the establisment of the school, also assured the management of the school of his continued support, adding that the provision of quality education to all citizen should not be compromised.
According to him, it is an obligation for him to ensure the survival of all education institutions particularly the Islamic education.
In his remarks, the Executive Secretary, Sokoto State Arabic and Islamic Education Board, Dr Umar Altine, represented by Ahmad S. Dogarai, commended Wamakko for establishing the school and his continued assistance to the development of Islamic education.
He assured that the board would sustain its routine support to Islamiya schools across the state.
He called on parents to always send their wards to schools and ensure constant visits, to encourage them.
Speaking earlier, the head teacher of the Islamiya section, Rulwanu Odita said the school, which was established by Senator Wamakko 10 years ago, started with 25 students and three teachers, but now has 1,108 students, with 23 teachers.
He highlited some of the challenges facing the school to include lack of enough feeding of orphaned students, as well as non regular visits by the parents to assess the performances of their children, among others.
Highlightsof the ceremony was the presentation of certificates and prizes to the graduands.
Wamakko was accompanied by the Executive Secretary, Police Trust Fund, Ahmad Aliyu, among important degnitaries.
