Stakeholders in the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) have acknowledged the transformative leadership of Bishop Wale Oke, crediting him with elevating the Christian body beyond the pulpit into a significant force in national affairs.
They noted that under his leadership, the Fellowship has evolved from being solely a religious organization to actively shaping policies, driving social change, and strengthening churches across the country.
Public affairs analyst Adeniyi Ifetayo highlighted one of Bishop Oke’s major initiatives, the Greater Nigeria Crusade, which mobilizes ministers and believers to pray for national transformation. The program has drawn thousands in Anambra, Uyo, and Port Harcourt, reaffirming PFN’s commitment to Nigeria’s future.
Another notable project is the North-South Support Initiative, where southern churches provide funds and infrastructure for struggling churches in the North. A special directorate oversees this initiative, making it one of the fellowship’s most impactful interventions.
PFN has also expanded its role in humanitarian efforts. The fellowship played a key part in responding to the devastating floods in Maiduguri, Borno State, providing relief materials to affected communities—marking a shift from strictly religious work to national welfare.
In 2023, the biennial PFN Conference in Bayelsa was a resounding success, drawing tens of thousands, including renowned Christian leaders such as Pastor E.A. Adeboye, Bishop David Oyedepo, and Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai. The gathering strengthened unity among Nigeria’s top Christian figures.
The PFN national secretariat in Lagos is also undergoing major restructuring to modernize operations and enhance efficiency.
More importantly, under Bishop Oke, PFN has become a fearless advocate for Christian values, taking decisive stands on national issues and restoring confidence among Nigerian Christians.
“Bishop Oke is not just leading PFN; he is transforming it,” Ifetayo noted. “Through bold leadership, social engagement, and strategic reforms, PFN has become a powerful force shaping Nigeria’s future.”
