Senate President, Bagudu, Buni condole Wamakko over death of daughter

The President of the Senate, Mr Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan on Monday, led a high-powered delegation to condole Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, on the death of his daughter, Sadiya.

Lawan said that they were in Sokoto to condole Senator Wamakko on the loss of Sadiya and prayed the Almighty Allah to grant her Aljannat Firdaus.

He described Wamakko as a leader not only in Sokoto or the North alone, but to the entire country, especially in the All Progressives Congress, APC.

“Senator Wamakko is a trusted and reliable leader of the APC. He is a core nationalist and a patriot.

“Wamakko is an astute leader who who always lead by example . He has been a very tested and trusted colleague, who is also a close confidant,” Lawan said, adding that whatever affects Wamakko, affects all of them.

According to Lawan, Senator Wamakko also provides credible, exemplary and impeccable leadership to the Senate.

“In Nigeria of today, we need people like him who are trustworthy, honest, humane, kind and patriotic. We will always stand by him in everything he does , as we are one and the same. We are here to condole him on behalf of the entire Senate . Her demise was indeed a great loss to all of us,” he further said.

He prayed for divine solutions to the present challenges plaguing Nigeria, adding that, prayer is a potent weapon for all problems.

The Senate President appealed to Nigerians never to despair in offering prayers for the nation’s leaders.

He noted that, leaders as mere mortals must make mistakes, but that, they will be properly guided and spiritually supported with the fervent prayers of the citizens.

“Every soul must taste death and all of us must exit this world at one time or the other .”

Responding, Senator Wamakko commended the Senate President and the members of his delegation for the invaluable visit .

He prayed for sustainable peace, unity and socioeconomic prosperity of Nigeria.

“We are lucky to have a leader like Senator Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan. All the members of the Senate are equally and equitably being carried along. He is a visionary leader, worthy of emulation by all of us. May the Almighty Allah bless us with more leaders like him.”

On the delegation of the Senate President were the Senate Leader, Senator Abdullahi Yahaya, Senator Bala Ibn Na’Allah, Kebbi State Governor, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, the acting National Chairman of APC and Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Bunu, former House of Representatives Member, representing Kware and Wamakko Federal Constituency, Usman Balkore and a Gombe-based business Mogul, Alhaji Awwal Lawal, Sarkin Sudan of Gombe.

Special prayer sessions for the repose of the soul of the deceased, as well as for sustenable peace and unity of Nigeria were led by Sheikh Abdulaziz Kofar Rini and Sheikh Yahuza Shehu Tambuwal.
