The Gombe State Police Command has arrested a 30-year-old man, Adamu Baje for alleged kidnapping.

The Spokesman of the Command, ASP Mahid Muazu stated this while parading the suspect on Thursday in Gombe.

He said the suspect allegedly kidnapped two persons: Fatsuma Buba and Manu Adamu both resident of Nafada town in Nafada Local Government Area of the state.

He said that: “Alhaji Adamu Bello of Labe village in Nafada LGA went to the Division and made a formal complaint that some unknown persons armed with guns and cutlasses stormed his residence at Papa village in Nafada, and attacked his relatives.

“They inflicted injuries on them and kidnapped Fatsuma Buba and Manu Adamu.

“Upon receipt of the distress call, our officers and men together with hunters rescued the two victims unhurt,” he said.

He said the operatives also recovered seven cows, four donkeys, 19 sheep, 10 goats, one Techno cellphone, a chain and a padlock at the suspect’s hideout.

The spokesman said the victims had been referred to a hospital for medical attention.

Meanwhile, the command arrested eight other suspects for different crimes such as criminal conspiracy, robbery, culpable homicide and possession of illegal firearms.

The spokesman said that two suspects, Joshua Dogo, 27, and Muazu Abdullahi, 22, armed with pistol and knife allegedly robbed one Abubakar Usman, 18, of his motorcycle at Garin Barde in Kwami LGA.

He said the operatives of the Tunfure Division arrested the suspects and recovered a knife, a motorcycle and a pistol.

“Also, Salisu Ahmed-Yahaya; Murtala Mohammed, Adamu Dodo, Abba Wuro and Adamu Harka all at large, armed with cutlasses and knives attacked one Abdullahi Mohammed, in his shop located at the market.

“They stabbed the victim several times on his neck and hand with intent to kill him, and robbed him of N200,000,” he said.

Muazu said the suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigation were completed.
