The Chairman of Suleja local government council, Abdullahi Maje has declared that the acceptance of consensus for the just concluded All Progressives Congress, APC, local government congress in the council area, has brought an end to a fractionalized party.
According to him, who spoke to ASHENEWS in Suleja on Tuesday said, the APC in the council can now present a united front, unlike in the past where there were fractionalized leaders of the party.
“Suleja APC is now united. There is no more fraction in our local government as our ward and local government congresses were conducted peacefully without any faction.
“All the APC leaders in Suleja are here and we endorsed the consensus list of 27 party executives to govern its affairs in our council,” he said.
ASHENEWS recalls that the 2018 APC local government congress, bred crisis, giving birth to two factions each led by Abubakar Lado and Umar Shuiabu.
Several meetings led to local positions shared in proportion of 60:40 with a view to having peace.
According to the outgone APC Secretary, Ismail Musa, it was through this arrangement that the consensus candidates for the 2021 local government congress were agreed upon.
Two hundred and seventy executives from the 10 wards of the local government area gathered to affirm the consensus.
