ASHENEWS reports that the Niger State Governor, Mohammed Bago has expressed sadness over the death of the former Secretary to the State Government, Mohammed Erena and his Special Adviser on labour matters.
The Governor, in a condolence message through his Chief Press Secretary Bologi Ibrahim, described the death of Erena as a great loss to the entire state.
“Farmer Governor Bago who described the late Adam Erena as a dedicated public servant and a true asset to the State said, his unwavering commitment to service and his tireless efforts in advancing the development of Niger State will always be remembered.
“Farmer Umaru Bago while praying to Allah to grant the deceased entry to Aljannah Firdausi, urged family members of the deceased to accept the loss in good faith as the decision of Allah can never be questioned,” the statement said.
The late Erena was the Secretary to the State Government of Niger State during the administration of the late former Governor Engr. Abdulkadir Abdullahi Kure.
He also served the Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria at the national and State levels, National Vice President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) during Adams Aliyu
Oshomole and two-term Chairman Niger State Council of NLC.
The deceased was the Chairman, of 19 Northern States NLC, former Permanent Commissioner of, the Niger State Civil Service Commission and a one-time Principal of, the School of Health Technology.
Until his death, he was the Special Adviser to the Former Governor On Labour Matters.
His burial was conducted with the Deputy Governor, Yakubu Garba, the Secretary to the State Government, Abubakar Usman and many key government officials as well as other sympathisers in attendance.
