ASHENEWS reports that the Niger state governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago on Monday commissioned the newly constructed Chanchaga Police Station following its demolition in June this year.
The governor, in his inaugural speech on May 30th, 2023 pronounced, as his executive order I, the demolition of the police station said to be sitting on water pipes which has denied over 200 residents access to water supply.
Speaking during the commission in Minna on Monday, Bago said that his administration is committed to safeguarding the lives and properties of residents of the state.
The governor announced plans by the government to support the families of security personnel who paid the supreme price in the line of duty.
The governor, while tasking security personnel on the need for proactiveness in their duties, urged residents to cooperate with the agencies by providing them with useful information.
On his part, the Niger State Commissioner of Police, CP Ogundele Ayodeji lauded the governor for reconstructing the station.
Ayodeji stressed that the security of lives and properties was an expensive venture, hence the need for the government to be deliberate in supporting security agencies.
