Following the unfortunate accidental airstrike that killed scores of people in Jilli village in Borko District of Gaidam Local Government Area of Yobe State on Saturday, APC governorship aspirant for the 2027 elections, Kashim Musa Tumsah (MFR), has deployed relief materials including cash and food items to cushion the impact on the community.
As one of the first individuals to send support to the victims, KMT donated several bags of rice, cartons of spaghetti, gallons of cooking oil, and hundreds of thousands of naira in cash to help cover medical bills for the injured.
Presenting the donations to the District Head of Borko, Mainama Zannah, and the Councillor of Futchimiram Ward, Hon. Lawan Zannah, at the Gaidam Teaching Hospital, KMT’s representatives, led by Yobe First Movement Zone A Coordinator, Lewami Bakura, said the governorship aspirant was deeply touched and shocked by the incident.
He said: “This is why he instructed us to immediately deliver these items, including rice, cooking oil, cartons of spaghetti, and cash, to the victims on his behalf, and to condole with the families of the deceased, praying that Allah grants the departed eternal rest in Jannatul Firdaus.”
“As for the cash, we have been directed to hand it over directly to each victim on their hospital beds and to wish them a quick recovery,” Lewami added.
Receiving the donations, both Mainama Zannah and Councillor Lawan Zannah thanked KMT for his continued support for the people of the state in both good and difficult times.
They prayed for God to grant Kashim Musa Tumsah success in his aspiration to become the next governor of Yobe State in 2027, for the growth and development of the state.
Other members of the delegation included Engr. Bako Mustapha, Gaidam LGA Coordinator of YFM, and Rabi, Haskey Forum Women Leader, among others.
