The King’s College, Obalende, Lagos has won the Bible quiz organised by the Bible Society of Nigeria (BSN) for the visually impaired.
The eight schools across Lagos contested the competition which took place at the Apostolic Church, Palmgrove, on Thursday.
The competing schools included: King’s College Obalende, Bethesda School for the Blind, Federal Government College Ijanikin, Senior and Junior Schools, and Pacelli School for the Blind.
Others were Lagos State Senior Model School, Agbowa, Lagos State Junior Model School, Agbowa, and Federal Nigeria Society for the Blind.
King’s College scored 55 points to clinch the first position, while Pacelli School for the Blind and Federal Government College Ijanikin (Junior) polled 45 and 35 points to win the second and third positions, respectively.
Speaking at the event, the BSN General Secretary/Chief Executive Officer, Pastor Samuel Sanusi, expressed gratitude to the Apostolic church, Palmgrove, for the use of the church for the competition.
Sanusi called on the government and the Organised Private Sector to contribute their quota to ensure thChat the visually impaired enjoy the benefits of education and life in general.
He said the BSN was looking forward to the day when the visually impaired could be awarded scholarships to study up to the university level.
Cash gifts and other items were awarded to the winners.
