ASHENEWS reports that the Kano State government has sought a partnership with a French Development Agency to transform the state’s water sector.
The state governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf stated this when he received the country director of the agency, Mr Xavier Muron at the Governor’s Lodge, Aminu Kano House Asokoro, Abuja.
Yusuf described the water sector as a critical sector hence the need for the government to prioritize its development.
He said that the state government would ensure that it engages all stakeholders in addressing the challenges around the sector in the state.
Areas that were thoroughly discussed include; the AFD and World Bank co-founded project of Kano urban water sector reform, Rural and Access and Agricultural Market Project ( RAAMP) which were all geared towards tackling the water shortage in Kano metropolis.
On his part, the AFD’s Country Director, Mr. Xavier Muron assured the state government that it would collaborate with it to ensure development in the state.
