The Kano State Government says no fewer than 100,000 vulnerable residents are benefiting daily from its Ramadan feeding programme across eight metropolitan Local Government Areas.
NAN reports that Secretary of the Feeding Committee, Akibu Murtala, disclosed this while speaking with newsmen in Kano on Wednesday.
He said that the initiative aims to alleviate suffering during Ramadan, enabling beneficiaries to break their fast with ease and dignity.
According to him, the programme, sustained by the Abba Kabir Yusuf administration, supports vulnerable groups and cushions economic hardship.
”The government has also warned contractors against substandard food, vowing sanctions for non-compliance.”
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring transparency and accountability in the implementation of the programme.
