ASHENEWS reports that the Niger state Governor, Mohammed Bago has approved the payment of wage bonuses for every civil servant in the state.
The Niger state governor, while speaking during the State Executive Council Meeting (SEC) on Wednesday said that the state would pay the sum of N20,000 for every civil servant in the state unfailingly by the end of today.
Bago also said that the state government will follow through with its earlier announcement to feed Muslims during Ramadan.
Recall that President Bola Tinubu during his visit to Minna, the Niger state capital on Monday encouraged state governments to commence the payment of wage awards to their workers in a bid to reduce the hardship faced by citizens in the country.
This online platform earlier reported that Bago announced plans to establish feeding centers across all 25 local government areas of the state to feed Muslims in the month of Ramadan.
A statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Niger state governor, Bologi Ibrahim said that Bago stated this during a meeting with all the Emirs from the eight Emirate Councils, the 25 Local Government Council Chairmen, and the Imams Forum at the Government House in Minna on Saturday.
The statement noted that the governor, during the meeting announced that it will commence the distribution of palliative in the state next week.
Speaking during the SEC meeting, Bago noted that the Niger state government will commence the distribution of 120 trucks of assorted grains procured by the State Government to complement the 46 trucks of food palliative by the Federal government.
