The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Sokoto State Chapter, has commended the relentless efforts of Fatima Ahmad Aliyu, the wife of the Sokoto State Governor, in empowering women and girls across the state.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Chairperson of NAWOJ, Sokoto State Chapter, Aisha Muhammad, and her Secretary, Hadiza Haliru, on Saturday, March 8, 2025, in commemoration of this year’s International Women’s Day (IWD).
Hadiza Haliru praised the governor’s wife for her unwavering commitment to women’s development in the state through various initiatives.
“Her Excellency’s dedication to women’s empowerment is truly inspiring. Through her numerous initiatives, she has demonstrated unwavering commitment to uplifting the status of women in Sokoto State,” the statement partly read.
It further stated: “Her courage and resilience in the face of challenges serve as a beacon of hope for women everywhere.”
Similarly, the NAWOJ chairperson noted that as a champion of women’s empowerment, the governor’s wife has worked tirelessly to promote education, healthcare, and economic opportunities for women and girls in the state.
She added that her initiatives have not only improved the lives of countless individuals but have also made significant contributions to the overall development and well-being of women in Sokoto State.
