HitchPay, an Africa’s rocket-fueled payment platform, has unveiled financial inclusion initiative at the NYSC orientation camp in Iseyin, Oyo State, aimed at increasing digital financial literacy among newly enlisted corps members.

The Chief Operating Officer of HitchPay, Ms Eunice Bankole, said this in a statement by its Corporate Communication Advisor, Emman Ozoemena on Friday in Abuja.

Bankole said that the programme combined brand activation, a digital career fair, and sponsorship of two camp events to reach thousands of participants.

She said that during the brand‑activation phase, HitchPay staff demonstrated instant app registration, frictionless fund transfers, real‑time transaction validation and electronic receipt confirmation.

“We are bridging the gap for corps members who will be posted to underserved communities without banking services,” she said.

She said that the digital career fair offered internship opportunities in software engineering, product design, management, customer success, and marketing.

“This aligns with our vision to move young talent from campus into the tech sector.

”The Oyo deployment is intended as the first step of a nationwide rollout to all NYSC camps,” Bankole said.

She said that HitchPay also sponsored the Miss Big,  Bold and Beautiful pageant as well as the Culture and Carnival Day.

”Carnival Day featured cultural performances, a question‑and‑answer session on overseas payments and dollar savings, and distribution of promotional items.

”At the pageant, live demonstrations of cross‑border payments, USD virtual cards, instant currency swaps, and subscription tools were presented.

‘‘Ms Babarinde Ifela was crowned winner and received N25,000, first runner-up, Ms Aderinto Mistura, and second runner-up, Ms Olaosebikan Bolanle, received consolation prizes,” she said.

Bankole listed dignitary at the occasion to include NYSC Camp Director, Commandant Ikusemoro Taiye, and representatives from the Nigeria Police Force.

Others are representatives from NDLEA, NSCDC, Community Development Service and the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development department.

Also, the Marketing Director of HitchPay, Ms Prisca Onyemaeme, said that its partnership had harnessed youth energy for national cohesion and would support hassle‑free, global payments to build Nigeria’s digital future.

Some of the corps members said that the initiative had broadened their awareness of digital financial tools and potential tech‑career pathways.
