ASHENEWS reports that the WhatsApp account of the Niger state Governor, Umar Mohammed Bago has been hacked by hackers who have been demanding for millions of naira to people on his contact list.
Though the time of the hacking of the account could not be ascertained but several media influencers from the state began posting about the hacking on Saturday evening.
The Governor has warned the public about the hacking of the account urging everyone who may be on his contact list to disregard any messages or communications recieved from the account.
“DISCLAIMER: The general public is warned that His Excellency, Governor Umaru Mohammed Bago’s WhatsApp account has been hacked. Please disregard any messages or communications received from his account, as they are fraudulent.
“The Farmer Governor deny any responsibility or liability for such messages, requests, or transactions. Do not respond or provide personal/financial information”, posts about the hacking stated.
A screenshot of the chat sent by the hacker showed that the message was the normal one usually sent by hackers who hacked people’s accounts. The hacker in one of the messages showed the hacker demanding for N10 million.
