Former military administrator of Nasarawa state, Bala Mande has emerged Zamfara state chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He emerged along with other party executives during the party’s congress held at Command Guest House in Gusau Monday evening.
A grassroot politician, Mande was the state caretaker committee chairman of the party.
Addressing newsmen shortly after his emergence as chairman, he said members of the party were firm and committed to the unity and development of the party in the state.
Mande appealed to the PDP faithful to disregard any intimidation from any group or individual and continue with their lawful struggle.
He expressed satisfaction with the level of commitment by the party stakeholders in the state, adding that PDP will remain one and will make more impact in the state politics.
“I must this time around, work towards the success of PDP. I will actively run the affairs of the party to make sure that we remain all as one family”.
He stressed that Zamfara state has been a PDP stronghold and would regain its stolen mandate, God willing.
Those elected along with Mande include Deputy chairman, Professor Kabiru Jabaka; Secretary, Faruk Rijiya; Youth Leader, Abdulsalam Salmanu; Women Leader, Madina and the post of publicity secretary went to Abba Bello.
The election was supervised by the officials of Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and an official from the PDP headquarters Abuja, Jibril Abubakar.
