The Emir of Kagara, Ahmad Attahiru II has raised concern over the high rate of unregistered motorcycle in the Emirate.
The traditional ruler raised this concern when the Officer-in-charge of the Tegina Outpost of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, in Rafi local government area, Route Commander Simon Bitrus paid a familiarization visit on him in his Palace at Kagara on Saturday.
According to him, the rate at which motorcycles wwre going about the Emirate without registered number plates in the face of insecurity, does not augur well with the Emirate.
Attahiru noted that some of the motorcycles are used by bandits to carry out their nefarious activities.
He pledged to collaborate with the FRSC to ensure that all motorcycles within his domain were properly registered with number plates, to enable security agencies identify genuine motorcycle owners and track the activities of bandits.
The Emir who appreciated the efforts of the FRSC in the rescue of road accident victims and enforcing road traffic rules and regulations, also called for the upgrading of the Tegina FRSC outpost to a full unit command to be incorporated by the Driver’s License Centre and Motor Licensing Authority.
During the visit, the Officer-in-charge appealed to the Emir to give the outpost necessary backing, in order to succeed in its bid to combat road traffic violations such as overloading, overspeeding, number plate violations, vehicle license violations and driver’s license violations.
