“The Commission will meet and take a decision when it is served with a Certified True Copy of the judgment,” Okoye said.
Recall that Justice Inyang Ekwo on Tuesday, ruled that Umahi can his deputy could no longer hold their offices, having defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, under which they were elected to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Justice Ekwo also ordered INEC to stop recognizing Umahi and his deputy as well as directed the PDP to send names of their replacements to the commission.
According to him, Umahi had forfeited his governorship when he defected from the PDP to join the ruling APC last year.
