ASHENEWS reports that the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Abubakar Sirika has disclose the the Max Air plane that crash-landed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport as a result of tyre burst on Sunday, has been towed off the runway.
ASHENEWS recalls that the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced closure of the Airport following the tyre burst of the aircraft.
However, the Minister, announcing the tow off of the aircraft through his Twitter handle @hadisirika, Sunday evening, Sirika also said the Airport would be opened in an hour.
“Following the temporary closure of Abuja Airport due to emergency landing by Max Air, I am happy to announce that the aircraft has been towed clear & we will open within an hour. Thanks for your patience & understanding. Well done our fire fighting team who quenched the fire & operations staff who towed the aircraft away,” the tweet reads.
