ASHENEWS reports that the Department of State Services (DSS) has now arrested the suspended Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor, Godwin Emefiele.
This online platform further reports that the Service earlier on Saturday morning, debunked media reports that it had arrested Emefiele, immediately after his suspension.
However, the spokesperson of the Service, Dr. Peter Afunanya, in a tweet on Saturday afternoon, disclosed that the suspended CBN governor was now in its custody.
“The Department of State Services (DSS) hereby confirms that Mr Godwin Emefiele, the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is now in its custody for some investigative reasons,” the tweet reads.
It however enjoined the media to be cautious in its reportage of the particular issue.
“The public, particularly the Media, is enjoined to apply utmost caution in the reportage and narratives concerning this,” the tweet further reads.
