Tinubu bowed in respect as he received Dantata in his office.

Mr Onanuga said, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu showed trademark respect to Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, Chairman of Dantata Group of Companies, when the latter visited him in Abuja on Tuesday.”

“Dantata, 93, is the patriarch of the Alhassan family in Kano,” he added.

In February, he threw his weight behind the call for a parliamentary system of government as a solution to Nigeria’s problems.

The business mogul, who rarely comments on politics, gave his opinion when he received a team led by the minority leader of the House of Representatives Kingsley Chinda at his residence in Kano.

Aminu Dantata born 19 May 1931) is a Nigerian businessman and philanthropist who is one of the promoters of Kano State Foundation, an endowment fund that supported educational initiatives and provides grants to small-scale entrepreneurs in Kano.

He is the head of a group of companies that manages his real estate and other business ventures.

Dantata is the founder of Express Petroleum & Gas Company Ltd and one of the organizers of Jaiz Bank in Nigeria.

In 1978, he was a member of the National Movement, an organization that later transformed to the National Party of Nigeria.
