Vice President Kashim Shettima has described Gov. Umar Namadi’s agricultural reforms in Jigawa State as globally competitive, commending the governor for achieving significant transformation within just two years.
Shettima gave the commendation on Friday in Gumel, Jigawa State, during a visit to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the Emir of Gumel on the throne.
“It is highly impressive how Gov. Namadi has transformed Jigawa’s agriculture into a modern system in just two years. I must commend the governor and the people of Jigawa for the laudable achievements,” he said.
The vice president also congratulated the Emir of Gumel, Muhammadu Sani, on his 45th year on the throne and wished him continued good health.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the Kashim Shettima Foundation to improving the lives of Nigerians.
It was reported that Shettima inaugurated a new Friday Mosque constructed by the foundation in Gumel as part of activities marking the Emir’s anniversary.
Speaking at the Emir’s Palace, the Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, commended the vice president for commissioning the mosque. He also congratulated the Emir of Gumel on his 45 years of service and dedication to his people.
In his remarks, Gov. Namadi thanked the vice president for what he described as a wise investment in the path of Allah. He also appreciated Shettima’s commendation of Jigawa’s agricultural transformation, assuring that more innovations were underway.
