Gov. Eno empowers traders, farmers in Etinan federal constituency

Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State gave out ₦361 million to 844 business owners in Etinan Federal Constituency over the weekend. This is part of his ARISE Agenda and his effort to build support for President Bola Tinubu and Senate President Godswill Akpabio ahead of the 2027 elections.

In the last six months, Governor Eno has visited all federal constituencies in the state. During these visits, he has given cash and other forms of support to small business owners while also encouraging support for Tinubu and Akpabio.

The support includes grants for farmers and traders, business equipment, help for small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), as well as cars and minibuses given to selected beneficiaries.

Speaking at the event in Ikot Edibon, the headquarters of Nsit Ubium Local Government Area, Governor Eno thanked the people for coming out in large numbers to attend the meeting.

He said he had now received “Needs Documents” from all the federal constituencies in the state. These documents outline the most important requests from the people. He promised to include the most urgent needs in the 2026 state budget and possibly even address some of them in the current budget.

Governor Eno also mentioned the recent Impact Assessment Summit, which showed that all local governments in Akwa Ibom have benefited from his administration. However, he admitted that where there are gaps, his government will make improvements.

In response, community leaders from the Etinan Federal Constituency, speaking through their political leader, Senator Effiong Bob, praised Governor Eno’s performance and said he has won the hearts of people across the state.

“If you weren’t a good governor, the people wouldn’t have accepted you,” Senator Bob said. He added that they were not there to judge Eno’s work because, in just two years, he had already done his best.
