ASHENEWS reports that the Jilin Province of the Republic of China has expressed interest in collaborating with the Niger State government in the areas of agriculture, health, and technology.

This was made known in a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Niger State governor, Bologi Ibrahim.

The statement said that the Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of Jilin Provincial People’s Congress, Fan Ruiping, stated this when he met with the Niger state Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago at the Niger State liaison office in Abuja.

According to the statement, Ruiping said that the Jilin Province, being the first in China to complete the industrialization of modern agriculture and to have an automotive industry was ready to collaborate with the state government in areas such as the automotive sector.

“Ruiping further disclosed that the Province has made substantial progress over the years, especially in its GDP, and has complete industrial structures with large quantities of outputs.”

On his part, the Niger state governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago said that the state government would make use of the invitation for partnership to boost the state’s economy.

Bago said that the state government was equally seeking partnerships with other states across the globe for the betterment of Niger State and its citizenry.

“We have no reason to be poor as a country. We have no reason to be poor as a State. We have human and natural resources ranging from land, water, and animals, and huge deposits of lithium, gold, aluminum, copper, and silica, among others.

“Understanding what we have, we should not be poor again,” he said.

The statement added that the Governor accepted an invitation to visit the Jilin Province, as extended by Ruiping and his team.
