The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Federal Capital Territory Council, Grace Ike, has restated her commitment to building trust, enhancing professionalism, and promoting credibility in the media space.
Ike stated this in an interview with reporters on the sidelines of the 2026 first quarter induction ceremony of new members into the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) on Thursday in Abuja.
It was reported that Ike was among the 421 newly inducted members of the NIPR.
“This moment marks not just a personal milestone, but also a bridge between my roots in journalism and my progression into the dynamic field of public relations.
“Communication is the lifeblood of society—building trust, shaping narratives, and driving change,” she said.
According to her, becoming a member will strengthen her commitment to strategic communication, which involves reputation management, image building, and crisis management.
“I’m really happy to be inducted into the institute, and I believe I will contribute to building trust and changing the narrative.
“We must ensure that we contribute our quota by being champions of national integrity and credibility. I am truly honoured to be an inductee today,” she said.
Ike further noted that, as a member of the NIPR, she would give back to society and future generations, particularly members of the NUJ.
