The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has temporarily suspended the Warri–Itakpe Train Service (WITS) due to operational exigencies and technical advice from its engineers.
In a statement signed by its Chief Public Relations Officer, Mr Callistus Unyimadu, the NRC said the suspension was necessary to carry out critical operational assessments and ensure safety, reliability, and improved service delivery.

“The NRC regrets any inconvenience this may cause passengers and stakeholders. We assure the public that efforts are ongoing to resolve the issues within the shortest possible time,” he said.
Unyimadu added that passengers and intending travellers would be duly informed before the end of the week on the resumption of normal train operations.
He noted that the corporation remains committed to providing safe, efficient, and customer-friendly rail services across the country.
The NRC appreciates the understanding, patience, and continued support of the public during this period.
