The West Africa LPG Expo 2025 is set to gather global and regional energy leaders in Lagos this March to accelerate the region’s clean energy transition.
In a statement on Monday, Mr. Jeffrey Leung, Director of the LPG Expo, described the event as a landmark gathering aimed at promoting Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) as a cornerstone of sustainable energy in West Africa.
Leung emphasized the expo’s role as the leading platform for advancing LPG as a cleaner alternative to traditional energy sources.
“This year’s event aims to expand the number of Natural Gas Vehicles (NGVs) to one million by 2026, underscoring the environmental, economic, and energy independence benefits of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG),” Leung stated.
Building on the success of previous editions, the 6th West Africa LPG Expo promises to be the largest yet.
- Over 3,000 professionals expected to attend.
- More than 100 international exhibitors showcasing innovative LPG solutions.
- Over 50 expert speakers, including government officials, global investors, consultants, and key LPG industry players.
The expo will feature an extensive international LPG exhibition and influential conference sessions, offering invaluable networking opportunities for stakeholders across the energy sector.
Leung noted, “As Africa’s second-largest LPG producer, Nigeria plays a pivotal role in the continent’s clean energy transition. The Nigerian Energy Transition Plan, targeting net-zero emissions by 2060, has made significant progress in expanding LPG infrastructure, increasing production, reducing imports, and improving access.”
Neighboring countries like Ghana, Senegal, and Ivory Coast are also leveraging LPG to achieve Africa’s 2030 clean cooking goals. These efforts aim to reduce reliance on biomass and advance energy sustainability across the region.
The expo will provide a platform for stakeholders to discuss innovative solutions, form partnerships, and drive the adoption of LPG and other clean energy alternatives in West Africa.
