The Managing Director of the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), Dr. Muyiwa Gbadegesin, on Saturday intensified on-site monitoring of highway sanitation, concluding the tour at Olusosun Landfill.
This was contained in a statement signed by Mr. Mukaila Sanusi, Director of Public Affairs at LAWMA, on Sunday in Lagos.
Sanusi said the inspection covered sections of the Lagos-Badagry Expressway, where targeted waste disposal interventions were reinforced to enhance cleanliness, traffic flow, and environmental compliance.
He added that vegetal waste clearing along the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway median was also assessed to improve visibility, restore orderliness, and sustain routine corridor maintenance standards.
Sanusi noted that Gbadegesin reviewed operational deployment, equipment utilization, workforce coordination, and overall service performance at the monitored locations.
He emphasized discipline, efficiency, and measurable results to ensure sanitation interventions deliver consistent, visible improvements across major highways.
Gbadegesin stated that the statewide operational review aimed to close service gaps, optimist resource allocation, and reinforce accountability in frontline operations.
The statement said the tour ended at Olusosun Landfill, where evacuation processes and disposal logistics were evaluated to ensure alignment with operational standards and improve landfill management.
It added that the exercise highlighted LAWMA’s proactive oversight and commitment to raising environmental standards and enhancing service delivery across Lagos State.
