Kaduna State Government has intensified road infrastructure development at the Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia, and Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria.
The Managing Director of the Kaduna State Roads Agency (KADRA), Abdullahi Baba-Ahmed, disclosed this in a statement issued to newsmen on Sunday in Kaduna.
Baba-Ahmed said asphalt laying was ongoing on the access road to the Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia, as part of efforts to improve connectivity to the institution.
He said the project, initiated by Gov. Uba Sani, had reached 95 per cent completion, with contractors mobilised to the site in October 2025 and delivery expected within two weeks.
According to him, the intervention is part of 150 road projects launched by the governor, covering a total of 1,345 kilometres across the state within the first two and a half years.
He added that the final asphalt works would provide a smooth and durable motorable surface, enhancing access for students, staff, and the host community, while boosting local economic activities.
Baba-Ahmed also said reconstruction of internal roads at ABU, Zaria, was progressing steadily, with stone-base laying ongoing in key sections of the campus.
He explained that the project was aimed at improving infrastructure within the institution and enhancing the learning environment.
According to him, the ongoing works would transform the university into a more accessible, safer, and better-connected academic environment for students, staff, and visitors.
