The Chief Executive Officer, Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA), Peace Anyiam-Osigwe has emerged Chairman, Federation of Nollywood Guilds and Associations (FRENGAN).
A statement by the National President, Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Emeka Rollas in Lagos on Saturday said the development is coming after the coalition of Nollywood Guilds and Associations metamorphosed into FRENGAN and now become the apex body of Nollywood.
He said Dr Ahmad Sarari, President of Movie Practitioners Association of Nigeria (MOPAN) was elected, Vice Chairman.
“Other elected officers of FRENGAN include, President of Directors Guild of Nigeria (DGN) , Mr Victor Okhai as the Secretary General; President of Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) Emeka Rollas as the PRO.
“Also, Bolaji Amusan, President of Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners of Nigeria (TAMPAN) becomes the Treasurer,” he said.
Rollas noted that it was a new dawn for Nollywood, adding that the era of anybody anywhere becoming a film maker was over.
“The body is out to address all issue of Nollywood professionally in line with international best practice and shall continue to build bridges to ensure the growth and development of Nollywood in good reputation,” he said.
