ABU Zaria announces new appointments, re-appointments

The Vice Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Prof. Kabiru Bala on Tuesday announced the appointment of an array of staff.

This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Public Affairs Directorate, Office of the Vice-Chancellor, of the University.

Those appointed include Prof. Nafiu Abdu, Deputy Director (Quality Assurance) Directorate of Academic Planning & Monitoring (with effect from 24th January 2023), Prof. Sumaila Malachy, Deputy Dean, School of Postgraduate Studies (Main Campus) (with effect from 16th February 2023), Dr. (Mrs.) Adama Adamu, Head, Department of Mass Communication (with effect from 6th February 2023), Maryam Ibrahim Abdullahi, Assistant Dean (Female) Student Affairs Division Kongo Campus (with effect from 16th February 2023), Dr. Madu Abdulrazak, Assistant Dean (Male) Student Affairs Kongo Campus (with effect from 16th February 2023), Dr. Abdoulie Momodou Sunkary Tekanyi, Head, Department of Electronics & Telecommunications Engineering (with effect from 8th February 2023), Dr. Yakubu Aliyu Bununu, Head, Department of Urban & Regional Planning (with effect from 12th February 2023) and Prof. Boyi Jimoh, Head, Department of Electrical Engineering (with effect from 8th February 2023).

Others include Dr. P.I. Onuh, Head, Department of Commercial Law (with effect from 3rd February 2023), Dr. Maryam Baraka Akor-Dewu, Deputy Director (Academics), Distance Learning Centre (with effect from 16th February 2023), Prof. Kabiru Jinjiri Ringim, Head, Department of Business Administration (with effect from 2nd February 2023), Dr. Mansir Dodo, Head, Department of Building (with effect from 14th February 2023), Dr. Ahmed Aminu Lawal, Head, Department of Physics (with effect from 14th February 2023), Prof. Halimatu Sadiya Hassan, Head, Department of Pharmaceutical & Medicinal Chemistry (with effect from 14th February 2023), Dr. Emmanuel Tsadu Gana, Head, Department of Theatre & Performing Arts (with effect from 17th February 2023), Dr. Muhammad Mustapha Bagudo, Head, Department of Accounting (with effect from 17th February 2023), Dr. Dahiru Suleiman, Head, Department of Economics (with effect from 17th February 2023) and Dr. Ibrahim Aliyu Fulatan, Head, Department of Mathematics (with effect from 17th February 2023).

The statement also listed those reappointed to include

The statement added that both the fresh appointments and re-appointments, which are in recognition of the appointee’s administrative and academic leadership qualities, are for two years.
