The minority caucus of the National Assembly (NASS) have threatened to impeach President Muhammadu Buhari if the security situation of the country does not improve.
This is the resolution of the caucus after a closed-door meeting which aimed to bring the caucuses of the lower and upper houses on same page regarding what transpired in the senate on Wednesday when lawmakers threatened to impeach the president over the raising attacks in Nigeria.
Briefing newsmen after the closed-door meeting, the minority leader of the House of Representatives, Ndudi Elumelu said the house minority caucus is joining the senate in its six weeks ultimatum to the president and signatures will be gathered to impeach the president if the security situation is not addressed.
He also drew attention to the general state of the nation, including the exchange rate and aviation crisis.
