ASHENEWS reports that troops of Sector 1 Operation Hadarin Daji deployed at Forward Operating Base Mada in Zamfara state have rescued a former Provost of the Federal College of Education (Technical) Gusau, Dr. Hassan Abubakar Augie and his son from captivity.
It was gathered that the victims were abducted by armed bandits late last night from their residence.
Reports indicate that the troops encountered the bandits while on routine patrol along Shemori – Yandoto road at Marke general area.
The troops had engaged the bandits in a gun duel after which the bandits fled into the forest along the area, abandoning their victims.
