The Emir of Kaura Namoda, Sanusi Muhammad Ahmad Asha has condoled Nigerian Army over the death of Sector 2 Commander, Major Sampson Raymond and two other soldiers in bandit ambush at Yardole village of Kaura Namoda local government area of Zamfara state.
The Emir, who paid condolence visit to the Brigade Commander, 1 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Brigadier General CA Baushe, Major Raymond and his team have worked gallantly to safeguard the people of the area.
According to Asha, “Raymond worked round the clock and had been responding to distress calls timely and gallantly. He was killed while in action to protect innocent citizens.”
He therefore prayed for the repose of the departed souls.
In the same vein, the Emir commended the Nigerian Army for posting a new commander who arrived the Sector Command before the evacuation of late Major Raymond’s body.
He also applauded the efforts of the military and other security operatives in the area for their zeal and courage to protect lives and property of the people of the area and the state in general.
The emir, who was accompanied by the Emir of Zurmi, Muhammad Bello Sulaiman and other District Heads, urged the new Sector Commander to continue from where his predecessor stopped and work assiduously to champion the tasks ahead.
On his part, Brig Gen CA Baushe said the Nigerian Army will not relent in its efforts to ensure the restoration of normalcy in the state.
According to him, the will gear up to defeat the heartless bandits.
He then thanked the Emir and his entourage for the condolence which indicates a good working relationship between the military and traditional rulers.
