Eid-el-Kabir: 5,000 joint security operatives build confidence with road walk in Kano

ASHENEWS reports that the Kano State Police Command on Monday organized a sensitization walk for 5,000 police personnel ahead of the Eid-El-Kabir celebration.

The State Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Usaini Gumel, in a statement by the spokesperson of the command, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, made available to ASHENEWS on Monday, said that the walk was aimed at building confidence and also sensitizing the public in Kano Municipal, Dala, and Gwale local government areas of the state.

“In a Special Operation Show of Force that was conducted by the joint security personnel in the form of a 10km road walk was aimed at sensitizing members of the public and assuring the good people of the State that the combined security agencies supported by Military have made all necessary arrangements to provide adequate security coverage before, during and after the Eid-El-Kabir festive period.

“The road walk which took off from Sani Abacha Stadium, through Kofar Mata, Emir’s Palace Mosque, Gidan Makama, Kofar Nassarawa, Gidan Radio, etc. was conducted with the combined personnel high-spirited morale.

“Highlights of the event include turn-by-turn public enlightenment and sensitization by the Public Relations Officers (PROs) of all the participating security agencies in the State calling on the good people of the State to remain law abiding throughout the festive period, shun all forms of crimes or engaging in criminality, avoidance of recklessness in driving including car-racing, observance of traffic rules and regulations and in the overall report any suspicious movement of items or persons to nearest security formation and continue to give all support and cooperation to security agencies,” the statement reads.

The Commissioner of Police who commended Journalists as well as residents of the State for their understanding, urged them to conduct themselves in an orderly manner during the Eid-El-Kabir Sallah Celebration.

“While appreciating the security agencies for the stronger synergy and commitment, the Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Usaini Gumel, FIPMA, psc commended members of the press for their continuous support and cooperation. The CP further warns that whoever attempts to disrupt the peace being enjoyed in the State will be dealt with according to the provisions of the law,” the statement said.

This online platform reports that the police were joined by personnel of the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy, Nigerian Airforce, and other security agencies in the State.
