Eid-el-Fitri: We’ve provided adequate manpower to ensure peace, security in Sokoto – CP Gumel

ASHENEWS reports that the Sokoto State Command has assured the provision of adequate manpower to ensure the maintenance of law and order, as well as provide security during the Eid-el-Fitr festivities in thje state.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Muhammed Usaini Gumel, in a statement by the spokesperson of the Command, DSP Sanusi Abubakar on Thursday, also congratulated Muslim faithful for the successful observance of the Holy month of Ramadan.

According to Gumel, “We assure members of the public that all hands are on deck to ensure adequate security for lives and properties before, during and  after Eid-el-Fitri celebrations.

“We have ensured adequate deployment of personnel to secure all praying grounds across the state, including all vulnerable locations ahead of Sallah celebration.

“Owing to the prevalent security situation in some parts of the state, members of the public are enjoined to be observant and report any suspicion, distress or breach of peace to the nearest police outfit or through phone call to the police command control number: 07068848035 or login to the “NPF Rescue Me” application available on the Google Play Store,” the statement reads.
