Twenty-five civil society organizations have expressed appreciation over the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami’s efforts that culminated to the successes recorded in the anti-corruption crusade of the President Muhamadu Buhari’s administration.
This is contained in a statement issued by Dr. Umar Jibrilu Gwandu, Special Assistant on Media and Public Relations, Office of the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice which was made available to newsmen in Abuja on Friday the 11th day of December 2020.
He said the organizations are of national, regional and international operations.
They include anti-corruption and forensic investigation bodies, professional associations, student unions, media-based groups, among others.
The groups included Citizens Participation Against Corruption
Initiative, Charted Institute of Forensic Investigative Professionals of Nigeria, Charted Institute of Public Resources Management and Politics, Ghana, Security and Forensic Studies, Nigeria; Millennium Africa Global Initiative, Nigeria Youth Advocacy for Good Governance Initiative (NYAGGI), Confederation of Governance Assessment Institute, Arewa Journalists Forum, and Presidential Support Committee.
Others are Competent Governance for Accountability and Civic Trust, National Association of Nigerian Students, Youth-Goal-For-Peace Project, Michelles Youth Initiative For Sustainable Development, Arewa Youth Salvation Movement, Peace Achievers International Awards, West
African Regional Assembly of the Youth, Society of Professional Management and Development Professionals, The Nigeria Project Ambassadors Initiative, Coalition of Nigerian Entertainers, Kano

The Executive Director of Citizens Participation Against Corruption
Initiative, Bashir Dauda in a letter dated 5th November, 2020 addressed to the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, noted that their support, and recognition of the Minister was in recognition of Malami’s “excellent commitment to the fight against corruption in Nigeria”.
The statement added that the apex umbrella body of Nigerian citizens studying in Nigeria and abroad, the National Association of Nigerian Students, (NANS) led by one Bamidele Danielson Akpan also wrote on 25th June, 2020 to appreciate the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN for his numerous contribution to youth development and for “discharging your duties according to the provisions of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria without fear or favour”.
Also, in a letter jointly signed by the National Coordinator, Adebayo Omoba and National Secretary; Malam Suleiman Musa of the Competent Governance for Accountability and Civic Trust, the group commend the Minister for nation building.
“We hereby commend your dexterous commitment and contribution to the growth of our country Nigeria. In view of your uncommon sense towards the nation building, as keen observers of your shining examples in exceptional delivery in growth and strategies in the Nigerian Ministry of Justice since you assumed office as Minister under the President Muhammadu Buhari’s led administration, our ratification revealed you as a beacon of hope across Nigeria and Africa”.

Malami that they have nominated him for the award of “Anti-Corruption
Crusader” for his “passion for nation building, dedication to judiciary duties, the passion for humanitarian services, a patriotic citizen that has always stood for Nigeria, a healer that brings succor
in times of conflict and disagreement,” among others.
Again, Society of Professional Management and Development
Professionals International through the Registrar Dr. Ayodele Edwards
notified Malami of investiture as a fellow and corporate Ambassador for the Project Management Profession. According to Dr. Edwards Malami
was recommended for the award based on his “leadership experience,
professional practice and your commitment to nation building”.
Commenting on the development, the statement noted that the commendation the Minister received could not be unconnected to his selflessness and relentless commitment to public interest, rule of law and dispassionate approach to dispensation and administration of
justice in the country.
