Guinness Nigeria Plc has reported an export sale growth of N13.04 billion, up from N3.56 billion, for the 18-month financial period from June 2024 to December 2025.
The Board Chairman, Prof. Fabian Ajogwu, announced this at the company’s 75th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Wednesday in Lagos, noting a 266.7% increase for the period under review.
Ajogwu said the company strengthened market positioning and operational efficiency to drive growth and deliver value to stakeholders. He highlighted a focus on productivity, cost control, and enhanced financial performance amid inflation and currency volatility.
A key initiative involved increased local sourcing of raw materials, including sorghum, in partnership with farmers and financial institutions, supporting Nigeria’s industrial policy and reducing import reliance.
Ajogwu also detailed Guinness Nigeria’s sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, which included:
- Responsible drinking campaigns and road safety education in collaboration with the Federal Road Safety Corps and Lagos State Drivers’ Institute.
- Sponsoring 150 cataract surgeries at Guinness Eye Centres in Lagos University Teaching Hospital and Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital.
- Youth development programmes, including the Guinness Nigeria Undergraduate Scholarship Scheme and the Tolaram Scholarship Programme, benefiting a total of 80 students and 49 children of employees.
- Community engagement in areas such as women empowerment, access to water, and environmental protection.
He emphasised the company’s commitment to long-term value creation through ethical conduct, responsible growth, and alignment with global sustainability standards.
Company Secretary Ms. Abimbola Ajibola-Jimoh highlighted strong corporate governance, effective risk management, internal controls, and anti-corruption measures, including a whistleblowing platform for anonymous reporting. She also noted health and safety initiatives, including a N17 million donation of ophthalmic equipment and enhanced compliance measures across operations.
