A Katsina State High Court has sentenced Mr. Rabiu Musa Matazu, Director of Administration at the Sokoto Rima River Basin Development Authority (SRRBDA), to six years in prison for abuse of office and misappropriation of funds. The Zamfara State Police Command has dismissed reports that 40 worshippers were abducted during morning prayers in Tsafe Local Government Area, clarifying that eight persons were taken by suspected bandits. The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has busted a major drug syndicate at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, seizing tramadol worth over N3.9 billion. An Indian national, Gupta Ravi Kumar, and three Nigerians — Ogunlana Olanrewaju, Olushola Kayode, and Bakare Muheeb — were arrested in connection with the haul.
