A Nigerian Service (NCS) patrol vehicle on Monday lost control and killed five persons in Jibia local government area of Katsina state. Dalha Wada-Chedi, the acting Controller of NCS in the state, confirmed the incident to mewsmen in Katsina. A petrol tanker on Monday crushed five persons to death at Celica area on new Ife-Ibadan road, Egbeda local government area of Oyo state. The petroleum tanker lost control, rammed into a Micra car and plunged into a nearby ditch with the Micra car. An Ekiti State High Court in Ado Ekiti, on Monday, sentenced one Ademola Oluwaseun,19, to life imprisonment for attempted armed robbery. In his judgment, Justice Lekan Ogunmoye said, although the convict was charged for offence of armed robbery, but evidence before the court only established offence of attempted armed robbery against him. Ogunmoye said there was no evidence that he succeeded in stealing anything from his victim when he was caught.
