A social worker, Mrs Rasheedat Sanusi on Monday, told an Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court how one Ismail Abdulmadiu allegedly defiled a minor in his care on her first day of menstruation. Sanusi testified at the continuation of Abdulmadiu’s trial on a count charge of defilement. Fire outbreak has engulfed a building in Javino, an area of Gauraka in Tafa local government area of Niger. Some eyewitnesses said on Monday that the inferno was caused by activities at the building where fuel was stored illegally. With fuel scarcity in the country, the owner of the goods was said to also store diesel in tanks for sale to customers as ‘black market’. The Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday, sacked 20 members of the House of Assembly in Cross River, for defecting from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressive Congress, APC. The Debt Management Office, DMO, has said that Lagos state government has the highest domestic debt figure of N658.95 billion borrowed as at the end December, 2021. The DMO disclosed that the total domestic debt profile for the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, has risen from N4.45 trillion to N4.19 trillion in September last year.
