The Naira exchanged at N417.30 to the dollar at the Investors and Exporters window on Monday, representing a -0.25 per cent appreciation, compared to N418.33 to the dollar recorded on Friday. The open indicative rate closed at N417.92 to the dollar on Monday. An exchange rate of N444 to the dollar was the highest rate recorded within the day’s trading before it settled at N417.30. At least 201 people died and 98 injured, in violence in West Darfur state in Sudan, an official working for the governor of the region said on Monday. The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) reported that tens of thousands of people have been displaced from their homes by the violence.
