YouTube Music says it has picked Joeboy and Black Sherif out of 30 artists from 15 countries for this year’s Foundry Class. YouTube Artist Partnerships Lead, Naomi Zeichner said, in a statement on Tuesday, that the class featured artists from different genres. Joeboy and Black Sheriff represent Nigeria and Ghana respectively at the class. Zeichner said, the programme aimed at assisting the artists build sustainable careers on their own, was created in 2015 and had so far supported 250 independent artists. President Muhammadu Buhari has nominated four persons for appointment as Non-Executive Directors of the Board of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). This is contained in a letter dated July 21 and read at Tuesday’s plenary by Senate President, Ahmad Lawan. Buhari in the letter, said that the request was made in accordance with section 10(3)(a) of the Central Bank of Nigeria (Establishment) Act 2007. The nominees included: Prof. Mike Obadan (South-South), Prof. Justitia Nnabuko (South-East), Prof. Ummu Jalingo (North-East) and Mr Adeola Adetunji (South-West).
An explosion on Tuesday rocked Lokoja the Kogi State capital causing palpable fears and panic among the people. Channels Television gathered that the loud explosion occurred around 8:30 am and was heard on the premises of the State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs. A bus Sunday evening in Central Kenya, plunged into a river killing 33 people in Central Kenya, officials said on Monday. Passengers in the bus were travelling from Meru town to the coastal city of Mombasa. The bus plunged off a bridge about 40 metres (130 feet) into the Nithi River valley below.
