The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) says Nigeria’s headline inflation rate increased to 20.52 per cent on a year-on-year basis in August. This is according to the NBS Consumer Price Index (CPI) and Inflation Report for August released in Abuja on Thursday. A Family Court sitting at Iyaganku, Ibadan on Thursday, remanded a 31-year-old commercial motorcyclist, Michael Ayanlowo, at Abolongo Correctional Facility for allegedly defiling a 15- year-old girl. The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Patricia Adetuyibi, who did not take the plea of Ayanlowo, ordered that the case file should be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for advice.
