The Sokoto state government to ensure that the 3.1 million Insecticide Treated Nets (ITNs) are not diverted to the open markets. Dr Muslimu Gobir, the Director-General of the Sokoto State Malaria Elimination Agency (SOSMEA) made this known while briefing newsmen in Sokoto. The 36 states of the federation grew their combined Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) by N360 billion in two years. They grew the IGR from N1.31 trillion in 2019 to N1.67 trillion in 2021. Yobe state governor, Mai Mala Buni of Yobe on Monday inspected Jumbam and Kaliyari communities ravaged by devastating floods in Tarmuwa local government area of the state. The governor had to use a helicopter to access the affected communities as all roads leading to them were destroyed by the floods. A Federal High Court, Abuja has ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to allow the Labour Party (LP) submit the name of its candidate, Clarita Ogar, for the 2023 Cross River House of Representatives election. Justice Donatus Okorowo, in a judgement, held that the Electoral Act, 2022 is superior to INEC guidelines on elections. The Abia Police Command has arrested 10 members of a dare-devil armed robbery gang that allegedly robbed a bullion van on July 26 and carted away about N390 million. The Debt Management Office (DMO) said Nigeria’s total public debt stock, which was N41.60 trillion ($100.07 billion) in March rose to N42.84 trillion ($103.31 billion) by June. The National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), in a biggest single operation in the agency’s history, has busted a warehouse in an Ikorodu estate of Lagos State.
